which file to translate?

    For my theme, I see 2 translation file, one of which is referred to as “author” and one as “system.” Which one should be changed to complete the translations?

    The .mo and .po files are located in both directories
    wp-content/languages/themes
    and
    wp-content/themes/mytheme/languages

    It is possible I need to delete one?
