Let’s try it, when you hover over the image, a wordpress multimedia tooltip appear with a description of the image, you can see a combination of different multimedia content forms, text, link, image, audio and video in the tooltip.

Also if you check our image tooltip demo at tooltips.org/wordpress-image-tooltips-demo/ , you will find when you mouse hover an image, we will display image in the tooltip window.

Hi! I love this tooltips plugin so much I purchased the PRO version now and am setting it up on a mirror of the site for testing.

Can use [tooltip_by_id tooltip_id=’0000′] in the alt field of an image to automatically call that tooltip id every time that image is placed into the website?

I am trying to use tooltip_by_id in the alt field but it doesn’t seem to be working. This would be amazing!

We realized it for you, please allow I tell you more details:

This is the first time we heard this kind of requirement, we decide realize it for you. Then we tried to use find some hooks to filter alt, and then we tried a few APIs in wordpress, but not good, then we tried to use Gutenberg render_block hook to solve this problem, but we found there are many editor in the wordpress now, so we cannot only support Gutenberg, we tried many times and finally we found the solution ??

Yes, we insert the [tooltip_by_id tooltip_id=’10′] in the alt — which have a tooltip term “job” and the content “this is a good requirement” then we found it works! the tooltip term “job” displayed in the tooltip popup window, So great, we are happy, but…, the function of [tooltip_by_id tooltip_id=’10] is display the tooltip term with underline, when user mouse hover the tooltip term “job”, we will display the tooltip content “this is a good requirement” in “job” tooltip popup window, so this will not works, it is not what you requested, you just hope when mouse hover an image, the tooltip content “this is a good requirement” will displayed in the image tooltip pop-up. ??

So we decide to write a new shortcode [tt_content_by_id tooltip_id=’10′] to realize your requirement. You can create a tooltip in tooltip editor, then insert [tt_content_by_id tooltip_id=’postid′] in alt of the image, then when user mouse hover the image, the content of the tooltip will displayed in the image tooltip pop-up window, this works ??

But, we tested many times, the tooltip content just include text, the image alt tooltip works, but if we insert video in the tooltip content, it cannot works in the image alt, because HTML conflicts, we still need a lot of work to do yet, we are not sure can we help admin display another image or video via the “alt” attr in the image, we will continue try to do this. I believe there are many problem in this function, I guess it is hard to over the limitation of HTML… so we cannot say we finished this work.

We will try to add this function in pro + version, but we will told users these limitations. If what you want is, when mouse hover an image, display images, videos, audio, map…etc in tooltip popup window, we have realized it in many years before, please just check our shortcode document at: tooltips.org/how-to-use-wordpress-tooltip-shortcode-tooltips-to-add-tooltips-manually/ ??

If you check our image tooltip demo at tooltips.org/wordpress-image-tooltips-demo/ , you can see wordpress tooltip plugin support use ALT attribute, REL attribute and title attribute as tooltip content aleady, and you can display video / image…etc in image tooltip popup window too ??

So I think this new shortcode and new function to insert the new shortcode in image ALT attr is not what you want, I feel sorry for this, we will try to improve it later, we just finished this a few minutes before and it is our 00:05 of the middle-night and we still have not chance to eat something yet , we will try to release a new version in next week:)

Also our developer lost sleep in another night and we guess we have 100% realized your great feature, would you please do a check at: tooltips.org/when-mouse-hover-an-image-how-to-display-images-and-multimedia-content-via-image-alt-field-supported-by-wordpress-tooltips-pro-plus-20-9-8/, now tooltip editor can insert tooltip shortcodes [tt_content_by_id tooltip_id=’306′] into image ALT field of images in your image, to display multimedia content in a tooltip popup window ??

We understand this means, many wordpress photo gallery users can insert wordpress tooltip shortcodes in their ALT field, and when users mouse hover their images in image glossary, users will see pretty text / images / videos / audios / maps / QRcodes ….etc on a pop-up tooltip window, this will help wordpress photo gallery user extend their image functionality to let their images have sound and video and animation capabilities…etc.

Please note, in the current time, we just tested in a few kinds of image and image gallery, we do not promise this function will works well for all photo gallery program.
