• In the User Profile plugin, I have the “New User Login Name Source” set to the Name Fields option. But created WP logins are only from the first name field. “Name Fields” is plural and implies both first and last name fields will be used. What am I doing wrong?

Ideally, I’d like to concatenate first/last names with a separator, like john.doe or john-doe for the WP login. How can I do this?

Questions bout our paid plugins are best asked in the support forum for that plugin to avoid confusion in this forum, thanks.

With the “Name Fields” setting, the new user’s login will be created using the first name if possible, and the last name if the first name isn’t available.

I didn’t provide a lot of flexibility for defining how the usernames were created in the plugin settings. I see from your question that I could have made this easier to customize. There are ways of taking control of this with a little custom code.

Another option is to put the “user login” field in the form for the user to choose their own.

I would like to use the support forum for the paid plugin but keep getting this message:

OK, yes, that sucks, and I’m sorry it’s doing that. I’m going to disable the the plugin that is doing that.
