I’m getting too many Jetpack requests like this /wp-json/jetpack/v4/sync/spawn-sync ? Can we stop these requests? It’s literally stopping people from the checkout page. My only option at this point is I had to turn it off.

It definitely is screwing people up who click on links through Metorik.

    Hi Doug,

Unfortunately, this is a side effect of a big number of updates to your site.

Could you clarify what may push a lot of updates at once?

We’ve seen similar issues with dropshipping plugins that push a lot of updates all at once. They tend to clog up the Sync queue and result in many updates all at once. In order to provide functionality, Jetpack syncs that information, and the requests you are seeing are due to that process.

There isn’t a way to disable Sync and keep using Jetpack.?We might suggest an alternative but it depends on the reason why your site updates so frequently.

Could you clarify how that affects the checkout process for your customers?

    Thanks!

    Hi Paulina,

We’re an international eCommerce site that’s constantly being accessed by customers who are transacting on our site / sending data to our accounting system / shipping services / customer service apis so there’s nothing we can do about that. I’ll just leave it off if we can’t control its syncs. Our business isn’t set up to have our phone lines clogged with people who can’t check out because of sync updates. I’d suggest looking at why the last checkout page is the bottleneck for updates to Jetpack. I don’t think that should be synced automatically anyways. We have too many other things going on for me to focus on it beyond these observations. The issue with Metorik is huge given how many people come back and buy using that feature.

    Hi Doug!

Are you using Jetpack or WooCommerce app? If yes, then what are the features you are using these apps? This information will help us determine if we can look into disabling sync for your site, or if there are alternatives we can recommend for your use case.
