After update to PHP 8 500 error + 504 Gateway Time-out

I understand that after updating to PHP 8.0, your site is producing these errors, is this correct?

Kindly note that both the 500 error as well as the 504 error, are server related, where the server is not responding as it should.

As a first step, I’d suggest checking your server-side error log for any information that could identify what is causing this issue. Please share any findings with us here.

Here is a helpful guide on how to find PHP error logs on the server.

Also, does the issue resolve if rolling back to an earlier PHP version (such as PHP 7.4)?

If testing the rollback, please ensure that you have a good?backup?of your?full site and database?in place before doing this, so that, should something go wrong, you are able to easily restore your site to a functioning state.

Additionally, I’d like to have a better understanding of your sites current environment, please could you share the following:

• System Status Report: navigate to?WooCommerce?→?Status. Select?Get system report?and then?Copy for support.
• Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under?WooCommerce?→?Status?→?Logs.

My webhost can not find any server related issue.
I discover this problem specially when I add a category in the menu and save it.
When I click on save the page is loading and then I get the 504 timeout.
Sometimes when I click on some buttons for examble my orders I get the 500 error.

503 error means that the web server trying to be reached is unavailable – this could be because it is overloaded, down for maintenance, or not fully functional for another reason.

Error log:?share a copy of the fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available)

Also share this error with your host team and request them to check the server error log and share it with us.

Thanks for providing the error logs.

As a next step, can you please ask your host to update the below values as follows:

PHP Post Max Size: 128 MB
PHP Time Limit: 300
Upload Size: 128 MB

Additionally, I can see in the System Status Report that the database is pretty big:

Totale database grootte: 340.52MB

Can you try optimizing the database and see if this makes any difference? You can use a plugin for this, such as?WP Optimize.

Please ensure that you have a good?backup?of your?full site and database?in place before doing the above suggestions, so that, should something go wrong, you are able to easily restore your site to a functioning state.
