I’ve been using Updraft Plus for a long time without problem – until recently.

I back up weekly and get a message that it succeeded each time. I’m trying to restore from an earlier backup due to some site problems and have now found that there are files missing.

Strangely, I believe the system knows this.

For each of the ones that failed (there are several) there is a link to the log file and the lot file contains text that says “Note: This file was not marked as successfully uploaded, but does not exist on the local filesystem; now marking as uploaded”.

Why would it mark as uploaded when it wasn’t?

And why would it not report this error?

I now have several backups that are useless and I had no idea about that.

    Hi?,

To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the backup log?
This log can be found in the Existing Backups tab of the UpdraftPlus dashboard.
If you cannot access the UpdraftPlus dashboard, then you can find the log file in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory via FTP or your hosts’ file manager.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle
