    Hi,

Unfortunately, your plugin has started producing fatal PHP errors on a live site, interrupting its uptime. We have not seen one ourselves yet, however we were alerted by the host and saw the following error in the log:

2023/02/20 14:06:40 [error] 14546#14546: *6089441 FastCGI sent in stderr: “PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Nesting level too deep – recursive dependency? in /www/qxmagazine_512/public/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_tagcloud/package.module.nextgen_basic_tagcloud.php on line 257” while reading response header from upstream, client: 66.249.64.118, server: qxmagazine.com, request: “GET /event/live-dj-until-3-am/2023-03-14/ HTTP/1.1”, upstream: “fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php8.0-fpm-qxmagazine.sock:”, host: “www.qxmagazine.com:43795”

Please can you advise on how we can get this to work smoothly again? Thank you.

    Hi @noellesteegs,

Could you please let us know what PHP version do you use for your site?

    Hi @imagely, it’s PHP 8.0.26. The site’s running WordPress 6.1.1 + Newspaper theme 12.3 and Nextgen Gallery 3.35.

Thanks. Could you please additionally let us know if you only got this error logged once or whether it appears periodically in the log and how often?

We’ll try to check with the dev team to see what may have caused it then we’ll get back to you.

It appears often in the error log. Sometimes there’s a minute in between, sometimes a few, sometimes 5 but not more than that. It causes the website to become unreachable for a few minutes sometimes, but this only seems to happen a few times a day, not every time the error is logged (thankfully).

    Hi @noellesteegs,

Just wanted to follow-up to see if you’ve got any of the errors replicated since the code changes made.

Hi @imagely, we wanted to give it a few days just in case, but we have had no fatal errors since you made the changes. Thank you.
