With last wordpress version installed (6.1.1), I need to disable Gutenberg in order to edit articles.

Otherwise, if I go to Articles and click on edit, the page shown is entirely blank.

Hi @seodance – I’ll be glad to help you troubleshoot this.

I saw in your other post that you’re using version 15.1.1 of the Gutenberg plugin, which is the latest.

The next steps in troubleshooting would be plugin and theme conflict testing. Could you please let me know:

    • Is the issue present with all your plugins temporarily deactivated? You can use the Health Check plugin‘s troubleshooting mode for this, which will not change your live site. If the problem goes away, reactivate your plugins one by one (while still in troubleshooting mode) to find the culprit.
    • What theme and version are you using?
    • Is the issue present with a default theme like Twenty Twenty-Three? Again, you can use the Health Check plugin for this.

    Thanks!

HELLO @zoonini thanks for replying, not clear how to use that plugin, installed but can you explain what to do?

In the meantime, the theme used is Divi Version: 4.19.4

There’s a guide here to using the Health Check plugin for troubleshooting, and a video just below. It’s geared to folks hosted on WordPress.com but the steps should be pretty much the same on any host.

You could also try asking the Divi support folks to take a look; perhaps they’ve had other reports of conflicts with the latest Gutenberg plugin.

Do keep in mind that the standalone Gutenberg plugin isn’t really intended for live sites, so you can safely just leave it deactivated:

Are you a tech-savvy early adopter who likes testing bleeding-edge and experimental features, and isn’t afraid to tinker with features that are still in active development? If so, this beta plugin gives you access to the latest Gutenberg features for block and full site editing, as well as a peek into what’s to come.

The same problem. When I open to write a new post, the screen stays blank.
The only solution I have done is to go back to a previous version of the “gutenberg” plugin and have the DIVI version at 4.19.5.

Have you been able to solve it?

thanks @zoonini also for the info that the Plugin is not intended for live websites but only for users who want to test in advance future Gutenberg features.

I was not aware of this, the developer who changed the theme from the previous theme to Divi installed the plugin even if I do not know the reason.

So, I removed the plugin from the live website and the issue solved: edit page now (as disabling the plugin too) correctly show the post/page to edit. Thanks!

    (@bribon for info)

P.s.: I believe that many bad opinions on the plugin wrongly collect reviews of users believing that the plugin is Gutenberg editor. I believe you should call the plugin “Gutenberg Future Features Beta-Testers Plugin” or something that allow to understand that this plugin is just for that. We save time, developers do not get confused and you avoid bad reviews.

    Bye!

@bribon – could you please start your own thread and folks will be glad to help you troubleshoot with you 1-on-1 over there. Please also report the results of your testing with the Health Check plugin (as I explained above) in that new thread. Thanks!

    @seodance glad you’re sorted for now. ??
