[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Show gallery by folder name instead of ID

Hi,
I have about 1400 folders, and each folder is a 4 digit number. For example, 5035. Each of these folders contains about 50 images. Each wordpress post is associated with one of these folders. Is there a function I can use to show a gallery by the gallery name rather than the ID#, since my database is organized by folder name?
Or better yet, do you have any suggestions where I could put a few lines of code into my theme that could use variable that I set in each post to pull the proper gallery, so I don’t have to hardcode the gallery code into each post individually? Please post your knowledge, I need the help.
