Tried deactivating and reactivating the plugin. Didn’t help.

Hi, I’m having the same problem again. Two days ago the client couldn’t show the events with the query loop. Today they have published an event that is showed, but the events of the last two days are disappeared.

Nonetheless, all the events are published correctly in there URLs.

Same problem here too. All events have disappeared, calendar view/list/day are all empty.

    This is very disappointing.

This is a fatal error and needs immediate addressing. Yet we are not hearing from support. If I can’t fix this soon, I will have to switch away from this plugin.

@matvirani I was able to revert to a previous backup that had an earlier version of the plugin (TEC-Pro) and that fixed the error for now. I also found that if you open an event to edit it, and hit publish again it will show. My site had 900+ events, so that isn’t really an option for us, but it may help you. Good luck.

Hoping to hear from TEC tech support soon.

Tried “updating” individual events, but that didn’t work for me. Like you, I am dealing with more than 150 events. I don’t know if I have a back up of the version before the update, but I will check.

    Hi @matvirani @ltdspark @glycymeris

Thanks for your message, and my sincerest apologies for the inconvenience.

Would it be possible for you to set up a staging version of your live site and try to re-do the migration from it? This is to recreate the proper event data and should fix the 404 issues.

Here are the steps to revert and re-do the migration:

    1. Update to the latest versions of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro.
    2. Remove any un-needed draft events and empty the Trash.
    3. Install and activate the Code Snippets plugin.
    4. Add this snippet and run it once (be sure it does not stay activated).
    5. Go to Events > Settings > Upgrades and go through the migration process again.

Please re-do the migration on your staging site.

If that doesn’t help and you have an active license with us, please open a Support Ticket on our Help Desk. This is for us to help you better and follow WordPress Forum Guidelines regarding premium users

Let me know how it goes.

Used WP Staging to do a staging of the site. Staged the site. The staged site still doesn’t show the Events Calendar. None of the events show up there, not even the new one.

Downloaded code snippet. Added the snippet you gave, and pressed run. Then deactivated the snippet. Checked the website again at this point. Events not showing up.

Went to: Events > Settings > Upgrades to go through the migration process . Got a note saying:

“The migration preview is done and ready for your review….”
“We detected one or more events that cannot be properly migrated. Please review the report below for more information. These issues must be resolved before you can migrate your site. Once you have updated or removed problematic events, please re-run the migration preview.”

I believe there are 151 total events. The migration report is showing 150 errors. So pretty much every single event, I assume with the exception of the new event added after the update that is showing up.

Pressed “re-run preview”. Got “Your system doesn’t allow us to run a preview, but you can still try a migration. During migration, you will not be able to create, edit, or manage your events. Your calendar will still be visible on your site. Learn more about the migration.

Pressed “start migration” – Same error – 150 of them.

The errors simply say: The event ….. generated an error: Migration was canceled. Please try again.

So the errors are unspecific and unhelpful. Doesn’t tell me what to fix or what to do.

    Issue not fixed.

Just reverted back to version 6.0.7. Now my events are back. I am not updating this plugin again until I hear from you that this issue has been fixed.

I have reverted to version 6.0.7. and I have lost events. Although they are published in their URLs.

    It’s awful.

How did you revert back? I didn’t use a backup. I just went to events calendar plugin page, clicked on advanced view, found version 6.0.7 and manually installed it. Temporary solution, and not perfect. Featured images appear overblown in posts. But I’ll take it over no calendar. If this issue is not fixed ASAP, I will have to switch to a different calendar plugin.

@matvirani Could you provide the error you encountered on one of your events? If you could not see the error on the screen, you could try downloading the report and check it from there. I’d like to check it further on my end. A screenshot or a video recording would also be great.

@glycymeris Have you tried to re-do the migration? If not, could you try it on a staging version of your live site and check if that makes a difference?

@d0153 – Are you talking about the error I am encountering in migration? I shared the details of it with you above. I get 150 of this message for every single event in the website’s calendar:

the event Music in Color: Orchestra of St. Luke’s Premieres a Commissioned Work – Manhattan generated an error: Migration was canceled. Please try again.

There are no further details anywhere. I downloaded the report. No further details there either. I have tried doing this many times on various versions of the software, same result.

    Hi @matvirani

    Thanks for your response.

Would it be possible for you to set up a?staging version of your live site? After that, please update the plugins to the latest version and check if the issue persists.

If it does, please try activating only our plugins, use a basic theme (e.g. WP’s 2020 theme) and try re-doing the migration again. Please see also additional tips for a smooth migration here.

If you still encounter “Migration was canceled. Please try again.”, could you provide a screenshot of the event settings of one of the events that has the issue? I’d like to check it further on my end.

    Hi @matvirani

I hope you are well. I wanted to follow up about the issue you encountered.

Were you able to successfully migrate your events using the suggestions provided in my previous reply?
