    Hi,

I have taken over the management of a website, but I am having issues with your WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin.

Basically, they have a website which has training courses on it. The courses are free for those that purchase a membership through Paid Memberships Pro. Orders are done through WooCommerce, and PMP and Learnpress picks up these orders through WooCommerce to do the rest.

When an order is created for the membership, Woocommerce completes the order, and LearnPress also creates an order with all the courses in it for free (and PMP gives the login access). When people pay via Direct Bank Deposit, the access works fine and the LearnPress order is created and filled in successfully. However, when they pay via your plugin through Paypal, whilst WooCommerce lists the order as completed (and there are no errors), in LearnPress, the order is created without any items in the order (no items meaning no courses).

This seems to be an issue specific to using your plugin. I have had the LearnPress developers look at it, and they have also come to the conclusion that it is a problem with your plugin as other payment methods also work for them too.

Any idea why this is happening?

    Hi @higgalls

PayPal Payments does not support or directly interact with LearnPress or with Paid Memberships Pro.
I know there are other PayPal Payments users who are also working with LearnPress without reporting such behavior, so this may be an issue with the specific plugin constellation on this site, and I’m not sure if there is much we could do about it.

?I have had the LearnPress developers look at it, and they have also come to the conclusion that it is a problem with your plugin as other payment methods also work for them too.

I don’t see what PayPal Payments would do differently to result in this behavior. In any case, as far as I understand it, it’s the third-party plugin functionality that does not work as expected. So in my view, the developers should dig a little bit deeper to better understand why their custom order is empty, as the payment part appears to be working as expected according to your report.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
