• Here’s an example of the problem… I create a new page or post and enter a title like “Dean’s List students announced for Fall 2022 semester”. The slug that is automatically created is exactly the same “www.pcad.edu/Dean’s List students announced for Fall 2022 semester”. This url will cause a 404 error unless it is edited.

Something changed on my site because it used to format as “www.pcad.edu/deans-list-students-announced-for-fall-2022-semester”. I’ve checked my .htaccess, turned off all my plugins, and my theme has not changed, but I’m at a loss on what to check next. Any ideas?

  • What does the setting under Settings > Permalinks look like?

I notice that calling /wp-json on your domain results in an incomplete return. This is highly unusual. Also check the error log to see if there are any error entries there.

Also check wp-config.php if there are any strange entries there.

Thanks for the reply @threadi … my permalinks setting is

    Post name

    https://pcad.edu/sample-post/

I turned on error logging on my site and went back and created a new post. I didn’t see anything in the log that might be related to the issue I’m having.
