Why I will not use this plugin ever again

  • WP Maintenance Mode was once a lightweight plugin with just the right feature set for its purpose. But together with the name change to LightStart, this plugin was converted into something completely different: It is now totally over-engineered, promotes the installation of another plugin and even displays ads for completely unrelated services in your WordPress backend. We should not accept such practices.

    Hi @martinsauter,

    Thank you for using the plugin and your review.

    With the latest version released about three months ago it’s already an option to skip installing the Otter plugin that gives you some free templates.
    There was a demand to skip this installation not only to remove it after so it’s already in place, and you can use the plugin as before without installing the additional plugin.

    If you see any other recommendations it’s just to give some insights of products that could help with building your website and there is no need to install them.
