Can't Select Database

  • I have been trying to resolve the Can’t Select Database issue on my WordPress install for 3 days now. Read many of the suggested solutions on google search. I am installing on a windows XP computer and using IIS 5.1. Using the latest MySql and the MySql workbench So I can see the database exist, and that the user has permissions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It would be awesome if someone would be willing to WEBX in and take a look at my actual situation and see if they can tell what I am missing.

    Can’t select database

    We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the information_schema.mwb database.

    * Are you sure it exists?
    * Does the user root have permission to use the information_schema.mwb database?
    * On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_information_schema.mwb. Could that be the problem?
