WP Importer not attaching image to related posts

    I am trying to import a large number of posts to another live site but not all of them are in the same XML file. I am exporting them by month and using Export media with selected content. I am using wp-cli for importing.

    wp import 2014-1.xml --authors=create

    Now the issue is WordPress importer importing everything including featured images but other images in the post are not attached. Please check the screenshot, also you can see images don’t have any author. Images are downloaded on the current date.

    How can I solve this? or is there any WordPress importer only import featured images and post body import as is in the source site?

    Hi @newdriver you said you are using the option to Export media with selected content where or how exactly are you doing this?

    I am using wp-cli for importing.

    Is there any particular reason why you are using WP-CLI instead of your site’s backend Tools > Import to import the XML files

    Additionally, when you are creating the export for the posts are you also checking the option to export authors?
