    Hi,

I use Elementor pro and GeneratePress. When I click Design > Widget I get a lot of error messages and I can’t edit the sidebar.

If I deactivate Elementor everything works. If I deactivate plugin external links also everything works. Elementor support told me that there was nothing they could do and that I had to contact you.

I would be very happy if you could help me

    Thanks Barbara

    Hi,

The issue is probably cause the the way WP External Links (or Elementor) intercept the output buffer to make changes to it before displaying the page. If multiple plugins/theme do this there can be conflicts unfortunately.

As this probably only happens when editing content you can try these things:
    1. If you only need WP External Links for content inside your Posts/Widgets you can go to the Exceptions tab in WP Links and uncheck All Contents and only leave the other 3 boxes checked.

    2. You can temporarily disable WP External Links when editing your content and enable it back after you are finished. WP External Links applies it’s rules when the page is loaded so everything should work fine even if it wasn’t active when you created your content.

    Hi,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I tried option 1, but unfortunately the error messages still appear. Of course, I would prefer option 1 instead of disabling WP External Links when I change my content.

Is there another possibility instead of option 2?

    Thanks

    Barbara
