I’d like to switch from my current Google Product Feed plugin to WPSSO’s, but it seems to be missing a critical feature for my needs. Can it exclude or only include specific products? Our store has many subcomponent products that Google Merchant Center doesn’t need to know exist.

No problem. When editing a product, under the Document SSO > Edit Visibility tab, you can enable the No Index option. This will exclude the product from the feed XML, sitemaps XML, and tell Google not to include this product in search results.

    Got it, thanks!

I’ve cleaned up the settings on my products, but I’m just getting a missing page error when I try to view the feed. What am I missing here?

WPSSO GMF registers its rewrite rule once, and then just checks that the rule is there afterwards. It could be that another plugin or theme messed with the rewrite rules. Try clicking the SSO > Flush Rewrite Rules button.

I clicked the Flush Rewrite Rules button, tried the URL again, page not found.

Clicked the Refresh Feed XML Cache button, tried the URL again, page not found.

    What’s next?

Are you using a plugin to disable rss2 feed URLs?

FYI, in the current version of WPSSO GMF, it adds the rewrite rule only if the rewrite rule is missing. In the next version, WPSSO GMF will re-add its rewrite rule on every page load, which should ensure that the rewrite rule stays near the top of the array. This should avoid other plugins and themes from conflicting by creating bad rewrite rules (ie. too general) above the WPSSO GMF rewrite rule.

I don’t have any plugins or snippets installed to intentionally disable rss2 and I don’t see any settings that would cause it. I deactivated the Google Product Feed plugin and it made no difference.
