We have implemented WooCommerce to be used for taking down payments for our real estate properties. We would like to know if it would be possible to create a mailing list system that automatically sends emails to people who opt in with summaries about new properties we add to the site for communities they have expressed interest in. We currently use a Filter plugin by WooBeWoo, and we also have implemented a wishlist using WooCommerce.

The communities are represented by WooCommerce categories. At this time, we are unsure how to connect a viewer’s interest in a particular community with a plugin that can serve them content.

  • Hi there @bammichael

From what I gather, you are looking into utilizing a plugin, for sending emails to corresponding lists, according to the filters for each list. Correct?

Feel free to check out AutomateWoo, for enabling powerful marketing automations.

Furthermore, I am linking the workflows section in its documentation here, for providing you with a head-start in using it.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.

While this seems like a powerful plugin, I cannot tell if it possesses the automation we seek.

For example, if a user searches in our filter section and selects a community, then opts into a mailing list for notifications on new posts, the site may send out an email maybe once or twice a month showing them some new or other products with the same “community” category?

    Howdy @bammichael

I’d like to circle back to the original post in this thread:

Just to clarify, how is the wishlist currently implemented? Kindly elaborate further on that.

Furthermore, I understand you are currently utilizing Product Filter by WooBeWoo at your site. While checking out the plugin’s main page, I was not able to find any reference with regard to working along a mailing list plugin.

I understand that, while displaying and filtering results on the main site is one part of such functionality, being able to function in tandem with segmenting within a mailing list is another.

Feel free to check out the following plugins also, to see if they fit your needs:

We are using WooCommerce wishlist and (I believe) YITH Wishlist for some additional features. I spoke with WooBeWoo support and they do not offer any form of “cookies” for this functionality, meaning we would need to hire them to modify the plugin to be able to save searches to user’s browser cookie caches. We’d likely also have to hire a mailing list plugin provider to link this cookie data to a mailing list form box.

I should note I’ve yet to find a plugin that would provide the level of automation we are seeking. I also noted we would need an email server, as WordPress emails all get marked as “Junk” by default.

So my current assessment is that the level of automation we are seeking is NOT possible, and our best approach would be to just run a separate mailing list (or two or three) for each of our largest communities we own property in, and have a couple emails sent per week (likely not automated as well).

    Hi @bammichael

Thanks for providing further information about your inquiry here.

In this case which is a fairly complex development topic that would require customization to do it. Since custom coding is outside our scope of support, I am leaving this thread open for a bit to see if anyone can chime in to help you out.

For questions related to development and custom coding, your best bet is to ask on any of these channels for support. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, too.

    Hope this helps!
