    hello!

I have just installed WPdt and soon it crashed the site. Long time ago I used to use it and I keep good memories of it.

The site crashed. When? When I wanted to replace the source excel file.

(it seems that the site works well again.)

I have created a new table and everything is ok with it. However, when I decided to delete the first table the screen freezes. The same happens when I want to copy a table.

The wp system sent me a crash report:

    Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, wpDataTables - Tables & Table Charts.

First, visit your website (https://mysite/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://mysite/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpdatatables-constructor&source&table_id=1) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can't access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special "recovery mode". This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

    https://mysite/wp-login.php?action=enter_recovery_mode&rm_token=Y1sKHEuhYoIAS5CCr6SGk4&rm_key=dnKvARS0q7OXxOYmtjv3DQ

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don't worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
    WordPress version 6.1.1
    Active theme: GridView (version 1.1.4)
Current plugin: wpDataTables - Tables & Table Charts (version 2.1.49)

    Hello,
our apologies for replying so late to your post.

    1. First we will focus on what probably happened for the initial table to “break”. Most probably, you have changed something in the core structure of the table, or tried to upload/overwrite by using a file with a different name in the source folder, and this can cause the table to break.
    As we stated on this Documentation about Excel Tables;
once you create a table from an Excel file, changes in this file, like:

    • Changing the column’s name,
      -Changing the column’s order,
      -Deleting the column,
      -Adding a new column.
    • Changing the filename

are highly not recommended, because the table in the wpDataTable plugin will not work, at the moment. If you make any of these changes, then you have to recreate the table again.

We can see that you successfully made a new table from the updated Excel file, which is good.

    2. But, you said that your screen freezes when you try to delete that first table.
For that we will need to conduct a more detailed investigation, which will not be possible on this Forum.
