Posts not saving additional styling info
-
This problem just started a few days ago. No idea why… I don’t remember upgrading any plugins or anything prior to the trouble. Anyways….
None of my posts are saving any of the extra info I put in them anymore. For exampe: I was using a WooThemes theme and it had a number of extra SEO and styling boxes on the posts page that allowed me to set things like page title, description, tags, and most importantly the layout. That is to say, the default layout I used for my site was 3 columns, but I preferred to use a single column for posts so that my photos would look bigger and better. Setting these extra values worked perfectly until a few days ago when it stopped working… Now not only can I not set these extra values for new posts, but all old posts have lost these extra settings…
I thought it was my WooThemes, so I installed the new version of Thesis. Same thing. Thesis has similar extra fields for extra SEO values and also one for custom CSS classes. I can set these values, but as soon as I save the post (or preview it) the values are erased.
So if both WooThemes and Thesis have the same probem suddenly, I guessed the problem is with wordpress. First thing I tried was disabling all my plugins. Didn’t work. So I went into myphpadmin and reset the plugins (as per here). Didn’t work. I searched these forums and found a post suggesting I erase the wp-admin and wp-includes folders (well, I baked them up first) and upload fresh versions of them from a fresh wordpress install. Ok, tried that but still doesn’t work.
I’m getting very frustrated here. Any ideas what to try next? Should I just bak up all my posts, nuke everything and start over? (if so, how?). Please help.
