I posted about a month ago about an issue with the sitemap on my website.

I edit my website’s content and did SEO tasks for about 3 weeks.I deleted the old sitemap and readded it too.

    • On Bing webmaster, it reads 2 submitted sitemaps and there is only one. It only reads 8 discovered URLs, not the whole website, but when I add the sub-sitemaps it reads all of that sub-sitemap
( I created a ticked on Bing and still waiting for a reply)

    Please check this picture: https://ibb.co/7rLzGvr

    But,

When I add this sitemap “https://dealinsi.com/sitemap.xml” and its sub-sitemaps I get discovered URLs.

    Hi @sa5awii92

We’re checking on the sitemap index URL (/sitemap_index.xml) generated by the Yoast SEO plugin and it seems to be loading just fine without any issues.

Based on your screenshots, it looks like you’ve submitted to Bing and Google just yesterday, on January 17, and today, it’s January 18. There doesn’t seem to be any errors from those webmaster tools upon submission as well.

There’s not much else we can advise but to be patient and wait for the URLs in the sub-sitemaps to be parsed and detected, as it may take some time here.

I resubmitted my sitemaps on both Bing and Google, But on Google Search Console the discovered URLs are zero for this sitemap: https://dealinsi.com/sitemap_index.xml since October. ( I added that sitemap to the domain property)

    But,

When I added https://dealinsi.com/ as a property on Google Search Console, and also added this sitemap: https://ealinsi.com/sitemap_index.xml the discovered URLs started to show up on both the Domain property and the HTTP property on Googe Search Console.

    On Google Search console:

When I go to the Sitemap in https://dealinsi.com property, I can see the discovered URLs in https://dealinsi.com/sitemap_index.xml but not the sub-sitemaps. On the other hand, when I go to the Sitemap in the dealinsi.com property, I can see the sub-sitemaps in https://dealinsi.com/sitemap_index.xml that I didn’t add in the Domain property.

Actually, the sitemap (sitemap_index.xml) you’ve added in the Google Search Console seems correct. While it technically appears correct, your website has less quality content and internal linking within your site. https://yoast.com/how-to-get-google-to-crawl-your-site-faster/

My question is not related to a SEO!!

I have an issue with some submitted sitemaps that doesn’t read by Google.

I added this sitemap http://dealinsi.com/sitemap_index.xml on GSC and I can see the sub-sitemaps:

    https://dealinsi.com/category-sitemap.xml
    https://dealinsi.com/coupons-sitemap.xml
    https://dealinsi.com/locations-sitemap.xml
    https://dealinsi.com/offer_categories-sitemap.xml
    https://dealinsi.com/page-sitemap.xml
    https://dealinsi.com/post-sitemap.xml
    https://dealinsi.com/stores-sitemap.xml

When I add this sitemap https://dealinsi.com/sitemap_index.xml I can’t see any sub-domain or discovered URLs this is my issue.

You’ve added two domain properties in Google Search Console – HTTP and HTTPS. Which protocol is your website using? You can share a screenshot of what you have as the WordPress Address (URL) & Site Address (URL) in WordPress > Settings > General.

    Thank you for your reply.

I added one Domain property and 3 URL-prefix properties:

    dealinsi.com

    https://dealinsi.com

    https://dealinsi.com

    https://www.dealinsi.com

    My website uses https protocol

Now in the http sitemap, I can see the sub-sitemap in “https” when I select the domain property “dealinsi.com” on Google Search Console but when I select the “https://dealinsi.com” property I can’t see any sub-sitemaps

    Hi @sa5awii92

The domain property type in Google Search Console should cover all variations of the URL (http, https, non-www, www), so we’re not sure if it’s still necessary to have the URL-prefix property or as to how it’ll affect the view for the submitted sitemaps when viewed from a specific URL-prefix property – https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/34592?hl=en

Could you check if you just check from the domain property and see if everything in the sitemap is showing as expected since you’ve enabled HTTPS for your site?

    Thread Starter sa5awii92

    (@sa5awii92)

I already added the domain property type in Google Search Console and it should cover all variations of the URL (http, https, non-www, www) but when I added it, the discovered URLs and the sub-sitemaps didn’t show up for about 2 months. I added then the HTTP property few days ago and the discovered URLs and sub-sitemaps started to show up.

I added the sitemap that YOAST plugin created: https://dealinsi.com/sitemap_index.xml

I also took a screenshot of the properties and the sitemaps that been added. You will notice it works with the HTTP not HTTPS even if I use the HTTPS protocol.

The discovered URLs started to show up: https://ibb.co/stJZxKR

I also created a form on Google Community regarding submitting many domain property variations and the expert said it’s okay if it works fine with me:

    Hi @sa5awii92

We aren’t exactly familiar with the nuances of how the submitted sitemaps should appear in Google Search Console depending if you add it as a domain property type or as as URL-prefix property type.

We just know that if you submit your sitemap (/sitemap_index.xml) under the domain property type, it should cover all variations of the URL, and GSC should also acknowledge the submitted sitemap and if it is valid and can be parsed. However, we have also seen cases where it definitely takes a bit of time before Google populates the discovered URLs from the sitemap from within GSC itself.

We can only confirm if the sitemap is functioning and loading as expected, and we advise to give it time for submitted sitemaps. For other views from within GSC itself, we recommend reaching out to the Search Central Help Community for further assistance.
