Hello @robert681 the problem occurred with the last automatic update.
Two sites, one with WP 5.5.9 and one with WP 6.0.3 crashed showing the above error message.
I deactivated the plugin manually by renaming the folder containing it.

Trying to reactivate it (on WP 6.0.3) I get this error message:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'const' (T_CONST), expecting variable (T_VARIABLE) in /wp-content/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/classes/Settings.php on line 30

At the moment I do not have access to the logs, I will follow up as soon as I have news.

That is happening because you are using PHP 7. The minimum version of PHP required is 7.2. We have just updated the version in the plugin’s readme file. Sorry for missing this one.

So the best solution is to upgrade your version of PHP to at least 7.2. Should you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

I am in the process of migrating these sites to a new server so I think the problem will solve itself.
