htaccess file stopping wordpress from running

no it still does the same, Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects.

Well, at least we know which block is causing the problem. Is there any particular reason why you need to redirect non-www to www?

search engines view different URLs as being entirely different pages. So the following URLs all may show the same content, but search engines will often see them a different pages with duplicate content:

https://example.com
https://www.example.com/
https://example.com/index.php

That used to be true. Now, Google, Bing, and Yahoo strip out index files and view both www and non-www as the same.

In fact, via Google’s Webmaster Tools, you can even tell Google if you want your domain listed as www or non-www. If you don’t, it’ll just pick whichever one your site was when it first found it.

So what do you suggest then take the htaccess file out?

I’d recommend removing at least that portion of the .htaccess file. There’s probably a better way to go about doing this, but I’m not enough of a .htaccess expert to suggest changes to what you have. I do know that it can be safely removed without affecting your SEO, but I wish I could offer a better solution.
