    Hiya

The name of this website/business is Prestige Cleaning Solutions, but this is not displayed correctly on Google’s MOBILE serp. For example, search for “office cleaners Glasgow” and you’ll see the results as per this image: https://snipboard.io/7jQVGE.jpg

As you’ll see – the company name appears as Prestige Fleet Cleaning (which is the name of one small part of the business). I raised this issue a couple of months ago and followed the advice from @jeroenrotty regarding the 19.9 & an extra field for Site Name Output. However, the problem continues.

Any suggestions on what we can do to get Google to recognise the name of the business is Prestige Cleaning Solutions?

    Thanks, James

    Hello James,

Thanks for following up on the issue.

Can you share a screenshot of what you have in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > General?

    Hi @maybellyne

Thanks for the screenshot, @jjdaley101. Have you considered filling in Prestige Cleaning Solutions as the alternate website name? Providing a website name and an alternate website name means you’re painting a more complete picture of your business. Google might show your website name or alternate website name in the search results, depending on the query and the length of your site’s name. You can read more about it here.

Also, have you tried using Request Indexing in Google Search Console? Here’s a tutorial to do that. Doing this helps to update information in Google search results.

Thanks for suggesting the alternate name @maybellyne & I’ve added that in. I always request indexing after an amendment, but I’ve submitted it again. Shall we leave this ticket open for a couple of weeks, or would you prefer to close it & I’ll start a new one if the issue persists?

To keep the overview, we close tickets after a few days of inactivity. You can actually re-open as the thread starter, or create a new topic if you need further assistance in the future.

Having said this, I’ll mark it as resolved for now.

Hiya – I’d like to re-open the ticket if that’s ok. Previous suggestions have been followed, but the incorrect site name is still being pulled into the search results.

As a reminder, the correct site/company name is Prestige Cleaning Solutions. However, Prestige Fleet Cleaning us being displayed (and this is just a small division of the business): https://snipboard.io/nhVIkr.jpg

    Thanks,

    Hello James,

Thanks for following up with us.

According to Google’s documentation, it uses a number of different sources to automatically determine the site name, and you can indicate your preference by adding?WebSite?structured data. The WebSite node is a parent piece of the Web Page schema. You can see more information about this at https://developer.yoast.com/features/schema/pieces/website/.

However, I noticed that your website doesn’t have the Yoast SEO schema output. Instead, you use a third-party plugin (Schema & Structured Data For WP v1.11.1). You should reach out to the plugin developer for further assistance.
