• Hi people!

I’ve already instaled a lot of times the new feature multisite of wordpress 3.0 and for two times I had a problem when I tried to login on wp-admin. It isn’t accepting my login and password, only reload the page. If I deactivate the option multisite, turn to accept again. I don’t understand what happens, doesn’t show me any error message, only reload the page. I tried to use the link for forgotten passwords but doesn’t accept too. Has anyone had this kind of problem?

    Thanks for all.

  • Tried cleaning cache & cookies and restarting your browser? Or using another browser?

Yes, I tried a lot of times and for others computers too.

If I had an error, very well, I could make a research to understand, but its only reloading the page.

This make me crazy. Don’t work only in this site, my others installations are cool! working fine.

You really have to clear your browser’s cache & cookies.

A quick test: use a different browser. I bet it’ll work.

this isn’t working for me either. I have a subdomain multi-site install. I’ve viewed another thread about it, but that had no resolution for subdomain installs. I’ve tried clearing cache, history, and using a browser that I hadn’t used before. I can only log in to my main domain and not my second domain (I’m not actually using any subdomains).

I can only log in to my main domain and not my second domain (I’m not actually using any subdomains).

And this is why. How did you set up the second domain? Changing the address manually? Cuz that makes it so you can’t login to the backend.

Get the subdomain working. Use the domain mapping plugin.

    I’m having a similar problem:

    Here’s some info:

    • We’re not on a subdomain.
    • We’ve tried different browsers and upgrading browsers; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
    • We’ve tried clearing cookies, cache, etc. This generally does not work. We did have success once with IE6 by renaming the existing cookie domain to something else (from “kentschools.net” to “kentschool.net”)
    • It may be linked to the user’s Windows profile – on some computers, if I log in to Windows under my username, I can login to our site, but if certain other users try to log in, they can’t do it; they just get the refresh. I’ve been able to fix it on some computers by logging in as the Windows admin and deleting their NTUSER.DAT file in their local profile, but sometimes this doesn’t work.

This has only become an issue since we upgraded from WPMU 2.9.1.1 to WP 3.0.1. I’m convinced that there has been a change in how WP3 sets the logged_in cookie that causes some Windows-based systems to not be able to log in now.
