Regarding my wordpress hosting domains.

Does it make sense to keep renewing these 13 additional domains which I am never going to use?

Only if you plan on using them someday, or you want to protect them as part of your “brand.”

I didn’t renew those 13 additional domains. Now the hosting provider is asking more money, saying “Renewing a domain during grace period is subject to applicable renewal and redemption fees.”

All comes to excess of $1200.

Now I am confused. Right now, am doing “nothing” with those 13 domains.

For now, all I am doing is blogging. In future I might create a product and incorporate my business (which is very vague, I might never do that).

When I spoke to the customer service, they said, the “.com” domains are always valuable, even them all together coming to 8 domains. almost $800 …,

Any body give me some advice, Thanks in advance.

Their prices sound ridiculously inflated. I recommend going with a different registrar, like Namecheap or GoDaddy.

Since those 13 domains are not released for public yet, I cannot goto other providers like Namecheap ??

I guess if you want them, you’ll have to pay the big bucks. In your case, I’d consider waiting until you can register them through another registrar.

Instead of buying those combinations, does it make sense to Trade Mark/Register the domain name, so I can protect my domain name legally?

That I am not sure, but I do know that it doesn’t offer any protection necessarily. It will allow you to take the offending party to court, prove that the domain is in violation of your trademark, and then you’ll either get monetary damages or the domain will be transferred to you, but it won’t prevent anyone else from registering it.
