503 error after latest upgrade

I tried updating the plugin on two different websites. After upgrading to the latest version 2212 the pages using the table of contents returned 503. The sites are using completely different themes and plugins and both sites are up-to-date. I looked through the error log and couldn’t find anything to pinpoint the issue. In both cases, I rolled back to the older version 2106.

Any help would be appreciated.
