Using Elementor post templates for single Job page

Job is the custom post type (CPT). And all that you can see on the frontend it’s the single post template.

I think you may use WordPress native post template value for the Job Template setting, but set your custom Post template through Elementor.

I think there is possible to assign this template to the custom post type (jb-job if it’s related to the JobBoardWP job post).

I checked now and I don’t see a way in Elementor to update the “WordPress native post template” – you can only create Elementor templates.

Which then can’t be used in your plugin.

Also even if the “Job” is a CPT, I can’t even select it in Elementor under Display conditions (which basically say for which posts a template should be used). I see in the list my other CPT that I created using CPT UI plugin.

(on that note, I also can’t see the “Job” CPT under CPT UI).

The only thing that worked for me is to set the styles globally under Elementor’s Custom CSS. This way I can style it to my taste, but if I wanted to add some new elements, I think I’d have to it through https://docs.jobboardwp.com/article/1570-templates-structure?

Even if you don’t find the way on how do it in Elementor, you could try classic way through customization PHP templates in the child-theme.

There you will be able to get full flexibility for adding some blocks, wrappers, etc. It’s a proper article https://docs.jobboardwp.com/article/1570-templates-structure

You need to select ‘Default job template’ option for that.

I enabled the “Jobs” Post Type in Elementor, thanks for the tip. However, I still can’t select that post type in Template Display Conditions https://drive.google.com/file/d/19VzPqrE8fF4EkZyTBeos6EH7mmg3HK26/view?usp=drivesdk. I do have Elementor Pro btw.

Do you know of other people who were able to make it work with Elementor? And by that I mean setting up a template for single job.

Otherwise, I guess I’ll have to customize the PHP which I haven’t done yet ??

Sorry for the delay. We have checked the Elementor plugin functionality and the way how to customize the templates. We will take a look more detailed to this feature, discuss the ways how we can implement it. I’ll add to our future to-do list, but for now there isn’t ETA for it.

I mark this topic thread resolved and can summarize that the easiest way to customize JobBoardWP templates is by editing the PHP file template via theme|child-theme.
