• Hi!

Due to being kicked off my old server (here’s the story on that), I’ve had to move my blog to a new server. My blog is now located here.

I tried many times to use the instructions located here and here to restore my old .sql database. However, when I tell phpmyadmin to upload the database from my hard drive, I always get this error:

‘Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 300 seconds exceeded in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/libraries/read_dump.lib.php on line 91’

This happens even though the file size (27993 KB) doesn’t exceed the “maximum file size” stated by phpmyadmin (51,200 KB).

Meanwhile, the DNS change of address has propigated, so I’ve put a bare-bones blog up there, letting my readers know that I’ll be back.

At this point, what I’d like to do is find a way of keeping the new WP installation, and copying over just the old posts, the old comments, and if possible the old links list from the .sql backup.

There are probably a thousand or more posts and tens of thousands of comments, so I’m eager to restore them. Is this possible? If anyone could give me any advice, I’d appreciate it.
