I use import from woocommerce to import products to my shop.

But when I import products via csv file it happens that products create a different category than the one I originally created for them.

For example: products go here: https://alwaysintrend.ro/bluze-dama-camasi-bluze-tricouri-tinute-homeoffice/ instead of here: https://alwaysintrend.ro/bluze-dama/.

In the excel file I use this way so they go in the correct category:
Imbracaminte pentru femei > Camasi/Bluze/Tricouri > Bluze dama, Imbracaminte pentru femei > Camasi/Bluze/Tricouri, Imbracaminte pentru femei

What am I doing wrong? This has been happening for a while. Before there were no problems. You may have changed something in the CSV.

I dont want css or coding. I think that the way i import is not ok

    Thx

  • Hi @hallerandrei

    Thanks for reaching out!

Firstly, I apologize for the delayed response.

Just to confirm that you are using the built-in Product CSV Importer and Exporter here, correct?

If so, then can you please share with us a copy of the CSV file with a few pieces of data for us to check this further?

Otherwise, if this was added thru a third-party plugin or a custom code, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I use built in importer. CSV here (https://we.tl/t-FPCeu3TNgw) – transfer valid for 3 days.

Now I had no more problems, I managed to move products from duplicate categories and add them redirect.

But please investigate the csv, especially the categories’ part, if they are ok.
I don’t know where else to get a csv template, that csv I downloaded when I first installed WooCommerce, to figure out if I’m doing the categories right with the “>” character. And in what order to add them so they show up in the menu as level 1, level 2, level 3.

If you can help me with a standard csv template, it would be ok.

    Thx

    Andrei

    Hi there @hallerandrei

If you can help me with a standard csv template, it would be ok.

    Thank you for clarifying further.

Feel free to check out the related documentation on Product CSV Importer and Exporter“, directly linked here, alongside the product CSV Import Schema (linked here), on GitHub.

For downloading a .CSV file with sample data from GitHub, see here.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.
