‘Read More’ missing from front page

    website is not “live” at this time as I am doing an entire revamping of my website. I attached a screenshot to original post.
    on the Home page, I have it set to have posts on left, sidebar on right.
    Under the photo of the posts it is about 2 lines of the text and then it shows just three dots … instead of a ‘READ MORE” button.
    How do I fix it as the dots don’t really show up well.
