Hello,
OK, I should add more context to my report, to help better understand 2 & 3 above.
W3N is the RSS “server”: doesn’t have AP or Friends. Uses the Astra theme that allows post formats. I have posts in the following formats: video, image, standard, link & quote. The feed serves 20 items (Settings/Reading).
WWW is the Friends RSS “client”: uses the Twenty Twenty theme that has no native support for post formats. In Settings/Reading, “Blog pages show at most” is set to “1”. I only subscribed to it, not “friended” (although it appears like that in “Friends & Requests”) as the Friends plugin is not insstalled on W3N.
Both sites use W3TC and AIOWPS.
A – I open “/friends/” – page called “Main Feed” – only 1 post appears (although it says 21 at the top of page). If page refresh, same. If click on “Older posts”, where link says “friends/page/2/”, I’m back to /friends/.
B – If I click on “Image” => “/friends/type/image/” => Message “Your friends haven’t posted anything with the post format Image yet!” Not true – page title is “Sorry, Page not found” and I get a 404 error flagged in the backoffice (using the Redirection plugin). Same for video. Status is OK, with the fact I friended W3N a few hours ago, and the box to publish a new one.
C – now, if I click “Refresh”, the feed is updated, I now have 23 posts available, and endless scrolling is there. Images appear in posts, but not YouTube videos or other oEmbeds (such as tweets) [limit of RSS?]
D – all posts are declared as “standard” by default in the menu on the right near the collapse button. This might explain why “image” & “video” give empty results.
I should try activating “Always enable Post Formats, regardless of the theme support” in Friends settings to see what happens…
E – “/friends/?public” shows the first post from the W3N feed in the WWW theme. The number of available pages is 23, consistant with point C. If I click on 2 or 23 or “older posts”, I get back to “/friends/” although the link says “/friends/page/2/?public”
Re: Yoast SEO – when installing Friends, 2 new taxonomies are created in Search Appearance – Reactions and Feed URL. By default “Show Reactions in search results” is ON
Re: 403 Forbidden
* go to /wp-admin/users.php?role=friend%2Cacquaintance%2Cfriend_request%2Cpending_friend_request%2Csubscription then from the top bar, click “My Friends Feed”, page appears. Now click on the browser’s back button => 403 Forbidden You don’t have permission to access this resource.
Hope this helps.
Sincerely
