Ultimate Member – error > email notifications stopped working

    I have installed UM 2 months ago. Great plugin, worked well. Since approx 3 weeks I received messages “technical error”. Sincethen the email notifications to (new) members and admin dont work anymore. Does anyone have any tips?

    1) Is UM compatible with php 8 (during installation php was 7.4)?
    2) Detail error message: Een fout van het type E_ERROR werd veroorzaakt op regelnummer 277 van het bestand class-admin-menu.php (error type E-ERROR in class-admin-menu). I dont know what to do.

    Which PHP Version 8 are you using, 8.0 or 8.1?
    You can see the PHP Version in UM Settings -> Install Info.

    I have tried to reproduce this issue with PHP 8.1.13 but no success.
    The failing UM code is calculating the used file space in your
    .../uploads/ultimatemember/temp folder.
    Do you have this folder created and the folder Permission at least 0755 ?

    PHP is 8.0.26.

    About the temp folder: permission is indeed 755. Are my writing permissions okay?
    Owner: read write execute
    Group: read no-write execute
    Others: read no-write execute

    Hello @missveronicatv,

    I think I found the solution.

    I have installed an extra plugin called WP mail SMTP. It promises more secure email delivery. And indeed, after configuring this plugin and activating th email client from the host (instead of my private email address which was used in the admin) emails to members and admin are working well.
