Vat UK error

    I get this error with your plugin:

    ” (UK) Failed No tax rates at all were found in your WooCommerce tax tables. Have you set any up yet? These countries have no tax rate set in any tax rate table: GB, IM”

    And don’t know how to solve it. I am building a store in spain to sell image downloads to the whole world. Why do I get this message as if I was not able to sell in UK as there are not tax rates found. How do I address this problem.

    Also, if I am a EU citizen should I charge VAT to UK customers or for the matter to any person outside the EU. That is weird and confusing. How to I have the power to charge taxes to people outside my political and economic zone.

    I do not understand that.

    Everyone and his dog is charging VAT to the whole world, but is this legal at all? How can this be? To be able to charge a Japanese or American customer for a product bought in Spain. Who am I to charge foreigner outside the EU taxes? Should those not be zero, and that’s UK included?. Should I set VAT to UK and all the other nations in the world outside the EU to 0.

    Your tax rates are set up in WooCommerce, in WooCommerce -> Settings -> Taxes. You can find WooCommerce’s documentation for that here: https://woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-taxes-in-woocommerce/#setting-up-tax-rates

    We are software developers, not accountants or tax advisors. The plugin provides a number of tools to achieve legal compliance with lots of different potential scenarios. But we cannot provide you advice with what scenario you are in. You need to contract an accountant and/or tax advisor to advise you upon what you are legally obliged to do, and I am neither of those.
