Same footnotes being shown for all posts

I created three stand-alone blog posts, each with its own unique footnotes. I was dismayed to find that the footnotes for the latest post had also been applied to the previous articles. This should not happen.

When I disabled the footnotes on the latest article, the footnotes for the second blog post were also applied to the initial post. Likewise When I disabled the footnotes on the second article, the first article showed the correct footnotes. So, they are stored somewhere.

I have had to put the footnotes in each article manually as there was a publication deadline.

How, if at all, can I achieve my desired outcome of having the correct footnotes displayed for each post?
