I used the Yoast plugin to create my sitemap then I disabled the sitemap feature and then I started using this plugin. Now I would like to know the location of the sitemap data that has been stored on my database because I’m returning back to Yoast.

Now I’m facing some errors when I validate my sitemap.

    Errors
[68] StartTag: invalid element name on line 1
[5] Extra content at the end of the document on line 1

And Google is still reading this plugin sitemap “https://my-domain.com/sitemap.xml
” and showing the discovering URLs even after disabling and deleting the plugin

This is the sitemap that supposes to show URLs “https://my-domain.com/sitemap_index.xml

I would like to know the sitemap file location, please.

  • Hello @sa5awii92,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
This plugin generates a virtual sitemap ( i.e. create a sitemap when you request).
If you disable the plugin then we are not able to generate a sitemap for you. If you still see the URL of our sitemap may be because of the robots.txt file’s sitemap and you also need to submit the sitemap URL back to Google if Yoast has generated a new one.
