    Hello,

I have not checked this plugin for a long time because it still functions well. But lately, my website has been running quite slow, and my server hosting provider told me that the CPU runs at the maximum capacity. So, I’m checking every installed plugin. I found that this plugin can’t load the settings even though it still works normally. I tried to disable and re-enable it, but it still can’t load the settings page. However, I noticed an improvement in the web load. Weird thing.

Could you please assist me on this? I’m on WP 6.1.1

    Thanks,
    Doug

    Hi Doug,

I apologize for the issues you are experiencing. Are you able to tell me a bit more about your setup? For example, how large the site is, are you using ACF of WP Fusion (two of the supported extensions), or does your site have a lot of users or use a third-party plugin that modifies user roles?

Also are you seeing any console errors on the Block Visibility settings page that is not loading?

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

    Thank you for your reply.

The error msg appears very shortly but it is something like “refresh the page, and if the error is still there then you should contact us”.

My site mainly contains iframes, and I use this plugin to make schedules for certain contents and mildly with user roles.

My users are not allowed to modify user roles. I do use Ultimate Member to manage their logins.

Below is the list of my active plugins:
    -a3 Lazy Load
    -Akismet Anti-Spam
    -Block Visibility
    -Disable User Login
    -FileBird Lite
    -iframe
    -Insert HTML Snippet
    -Insert PHP Code Snippet
    -Jetpack
    -Jetpack Boost
    -Jetpack Protect
    -Kadence Blocks
    -LiteSpeed Cache
    -Login or Logout Menu Item
    -Meta Tag Manager
    -Nelio Compare Images Block
    -Powie’s Random Post shortcode
    -Really Simple SSL
    -Simple Floating Menu
    -Smart Slider 3
    -Spectra
    -Super Progressive Web Apps
    -Title Remover
    -Ultimate Member
-WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click
    -WP Data Access
    -WP Maximum Upload File Size
    -WP Post Popup
    -WP Rollback

    My current theme is Instorm.

Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks for this additional info Doug. Are you seeing any console errors on the Block Visibility settings page that is not loading? These would be JavaScript errors that you can see when opening the browser inspector. The link details how to find them.

In the meantime, I will roughly replicate your setup and see if I am able to replicate the issue.

    Best,
    Nick

    Hi,

I have checked the console errors, and you can see the log here.

I generated the logs from Chrome and Firefox. Let me know if you need anything else.

    Thanks for your support,

    Hi Doug,

I apologize for the delayed reply. Was out on vacation at the end of last week. I can see what the issue is regarding the Settings page not loading. The error is actually the same as the one in this support ticket. That ticket was solved by refreshing the permalink settings. Can you give that a try and see if it resolves the issue?

Either way, I am preparing a new release of Block Visibility that will be out at the beginning of next week, which will resolve this issue entirely by using a different method to fetch plugin settings and variables. I will follow up once that release is available for download.

    Best,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

    No worries.

I also saw that ticket before opening mine, my permalinks are set to Plain. I have saved the permalinks setting again to see if it refreshes everything, but the error is still there.

It’s great to hear that there will be an update soon, looking forward to trying that out.

    Thanks again for your support,
    Have a good day.

    Hi again Doug,

The latest release is now live. If you have a minute to upgrade and check the Settings page, I would appreciate it. Fingers crossed, the issue should be resolved. If not, we’ll keep hunting for the source!
