    Hi,

I’m getting AJAX 500 Errors when trying to restore to another server using Duplicator 1.5.0 backups. If I rollback Duplicator to 1.4.7.2 and take a new backup, I can restore that backup to the other server without issue.

I saw another post about this issue, but didn’t see anything relevant to my scenario.

The only difference I can see between the two servers is the server taking the backup is running PHP 7.4 and the server being restored to is running PHP 8.1.

If you need any other info, let me know.

    Hey @snowme

Thanks for the feedback! There are a few items in the FAQ that may provide a solution to this issue, this one may get you going.

    – How to fix installer web-server 500/502/503/504 issues?

If you would like to submit a support ticket for this issue we can have a closer look at your setup. I can also get you a copy 1.5.1 which has various bug fixes that might help. Please provide a link to this forum thread when submitting the ticket.

    Hope this helps~

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I tried out version 1.5.1, but unfortunately I still get the AJAX 500 errors after the database has been copied. I did download the installer-log.txt file and attached to a new support ticket along with this forum post.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hi snowme,
I wrote the initial post about this issue and send them support ticket, logs etc.

    Unfortunately it isn’t solved yet.
So I use duplicator version 1.4.7.2 with rollback plugin.
It’s really strange that they don’t want to solve this problem.

    Hey @alex008,

We do want to solve the issue, but in some of these cases, we can’t solve them with just the logs alone. 1.5.0 introduced a lot of new features including the ability multi-thread process so it’s possible that could be the issue.

Based on the ticket you submitted our development team asked for access to your system to troubleshoot the issue more closely. It looks like you never responded.

I can understand if you can’t, share your system access. But until we can get on a system and replicate the issue and debug it readily, we won’t be able to solve the problem directly by making guesses at what the issue could be. With thousands of hosts multiple versions of PHP, WordPress, MySQL, MariaDB, MSSQL, Apache, many other web servers, and different operating systems coupled with cross configurations it’s not easy to always solve these issues.

We test our processes on dozens of major hosts and have not been able to reproduce this issue. With thousands of different hosts and configurations, some of these issues are not easily solved. Eventually, we’ll get someone who will share access and at that point, we’ll be able to narrow down the issue and help solve the issue for the broader community of WordPress users that may be experiencing it. Until we can isolate it the best-recommended approach is to do as you have recommended and roll back to 1.4.7.2

    Thanks for your patience~
