Upgrade failed, can't log in to mysql, blog is now gone

  • I just upgraded to version 3.0.1 and the entire site is gone, completely. I can’t login to my admin because I just get a blank page. I read in the forums that I need to get into mysql and I have no idea how to do that. My site is hosted on Godaddy, I found where to log in to mysql, but I don’t remember ever choosing a username or password. I found a way to reset the password, but still can’t log in. Not even sure what I’m supposed to do when I get in there. Obviously I’m not very advanced with website knowledge. Please help!

  • Have you tried re-uploading all the files back up onto your server? Try that first – and then delete off the items in the plugin folder if you have any add-ons, hacks, etc. In other words, remove anything that wasn’t in the original installation. I had a similar thing happen before and it was due to a plugin that was corrupt.
