How do I turn off the caption on top:
‘Mindblown: a blog about philosophy.’</blockquote>

Did you get this part sorted? I'm not seeing that text on your page linked above.

I’d suggest first looking for those blocks in your Index template, which controls the output of the blog page. You can get there by going to Appearance > Editor > Browse All Templates, or add /wp-admin/site-editor.php?postType=wp_template after your URL.

Let me know how it goes.

I had the same problem with the “Mindblown . . .” text; found it in the Home template line 6:
<h1 class=”alignwide” style=”margin-bottom:var(–wp–preset–spacing–60)”> Mindblown: a blog about philosophy.</h1>

The “Got any book recommendations?” text and “Get in touch” button are in Theme Files>Patterns>call-to-action.php.

The Home page template has a Pattern block following the Query Loop section. Is that inserting the “call-to-action.php” section?

How best to remove this extraneous junk?
