Not able to “ad payment method” on myaccount page

    Hi!

    I just set up my first woocommerce store.
    Most of the things I need I got to work…for now.

    But there is a issue I cannot adress:
    When a logged in user enters their myaccount page>pament methods, it is not possible to ad a new payment method. The error “invalid email adress” appears!
    -> But in this dialog there is no email adress entered!?
    -> If the same user buys something in the store, the payment method can be entered at the checkout – and this is working fine!
    -> If this user then goes back to the myaccount page, the (if the checkbox was selected) saved payment method is there!
    -> But still, the saved payment method cannot be changed in the myaccount page…same error then

    Can you please share with us a clear screenshot of what you see on your end so that we could address you more effectively?

    Furthermore, can you please share what is the payment gateway enabled on your site? You can check it under WooCommerce > Settings > Payments.

    On my test site, this is what I am seeing when I click Add Payment Method. I only have Stripe as my payment gateway.

    This is the expected behavior. Your customers can only add a new or delete an existing payment method under My Accounts > Payment Methods tab.

    Thanks for your details respond!

    – The payment method witch I have this issue is “woocommerce payments” (so stripe-express)

    – When a logged in user enters the mcaccount page in case they never bought anything before (a new user), my screen looks like yours! The user would be able to ad a payment method.
    -> And here is the issue! If a user tries this, the message “invalid email adress” appears – although in this dialog no email adress is asked. And the emailadress from the user itself have to be OK, otherwise the user would not be able to open an account…!?
    -> if the user does a purchase, he can enter the payment method during the checkout – this is working well! If the logged in user then enters the myaccount page, the payment method is here and can be deleted. But trying to enter a new one results in the same error.

    It seams that the woocommerce payments plugin uses a email adress named “account_business_support_email” But I cannot find any information where this email comes from or is set.

    It seams that the woocommerce payments plugin uses a email adress named “account_business_support_email” But I cannot find any information where this email comes from or is set.

    I’d like to understand your site properly, can you please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

    You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

    If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

    I can see that you have two (2) payment gateways currently enabled on your site.

    On my test site having Stripe and Square as active payment gateways, I am seeing this screen to choose which payment method I would like to add:

    Thanks for your reply!
    So I try to explain my issue more clearly – sorry for not being clear!

    – I have activated 2 payment methods, woocommerce payments and paypal. But my issue is just related to woocommerce payments. If i disable paypal the issue is the same.

    – in woocommerce payments you can activate a option to save a used payment method on the “myaccount”.

    – if I activate this option there is a aditional checkmark during checkout, making it possible to save the used payment method. This works fine!! The payment method will then be shown on the “myaccount” page. AND can be deleted there!

    – If there is no saved payment method (as you can see in my personal account – to show you the issue) it is possible to save a payment method here.
    -> but entering the credit card details and pressing “save” results in the meassge “ungültige email adresse” (meaning “invalid email address” in english).

    You can try this on my website on your own! Just open an account and try to save a payment method direct on the myaccount page.

    I hope my problem is now a bit more clear?

    May I ask, can you switch your theme temporarily to Storefront, and disable all plugins except WooCommerce and WooCommerce payments? At this point, is the issue still present?

    But changing the theme is not that easy on my site, because my theme is a pagebuilder…disabling this theme crashes nearly everything…

    But this theme (uncode) supports woocommerce natively, so this should not be the problem.
    And as I know from the uncode-support, the “invalid email adress” message refers to an adress called “account_business_support_email”…!??

    I understand. In order to find the root cause of the issue, we need to go ahead with actually eliminating possibilities. Kindly note that, per this forum’s pinned thread, to rule out plugin and theme conflicts, temporarily deactivate them and re-run your test. If the error no longer occurs, you can find out which plugin or theme is causing your issue.

    I did some testing now – but I could not find a different behaviour. I did deactivate all plugins (that are possible to deactivate). But my theme I cannot change, because my theme is a pagebuilder…so without this theme, my site is dead.

    But after my testing (I did the tests on a stagging site) I find a new issue, relating to the old one…

    – The woo-payments plugin on my live site was deactivated – showing the “finish setup” button. Doing so results in a error message: There was a problem connecting this site to WordPress.com: “Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.”
    – Looking on my wordpress.com account I realised, that the “primary page” was now my stagging site (witch I already deleted at this moment).
    – I deleted the “primary site” on my account and tried to connect the right one again…with no luck!
    – On wordpress.com I always get stuck “buying a domain”…
    – And on my site I always get errors trying to connect…
    – I also tried jetback (I dont use jetpack), just try to connect to wordpress.com

    I’m glad to read this. From what I understand you have now opted to use WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway, instead of WooCommerce Payments (replaced one for the other), correct?

    Which leaves the following to resolve:

    And yes, I am using stripe payment gateway instead of woo payments… firstly I just tried, to look if saving payment methods works with an other plugin or not.
    But now, not able to connect to wordpress.com anymore – I have to replace on for the other. That was not initially the plan, but is a solution I can live with – for the payment.
    – But connecting my site to wordpress.com might have some other reasons why I want to fix this…
    – Any ideas on this?

    Hello @imagostudio,

    Yes, you need to connect to WordPress.com to be able to use the plugin. Please try connecting your site if you’re not already as well as updating Jetpack.

    If that doesn’t solve the problem with WooCommerce Payments, we’ll be more than happy to take a closer look by submitting an email ticket from here.
