How to add image via link

  • I don’t see how the “add image to gallery by link” feature works.

    I tried a link to a page containing an image, thinking the code might scan the page contents, identify the image, and upload it. That didn’t work.

    I tried a link to a specific image file (obtained by calling up the image in Media Library Folders Pro, another plugin I use). That didn’t work.

    How does the “add via link” feature work?

    Hi Mark,
    Thank you for using MediaPress.
    The Add via link for image works if you specify the direct url of an image.
    An example is https://example.com/some-image.jpg

    The images must have one of the extensions allowed in your MediaPress settings.

    I hope it clarifies.

    Is Library Folder Pro adding any privacy/access restriction to the images?

    To clarify further:

    The image I am trying to upload is at https://pursuit.olbert.com/wp-content/uploads/moto/2022-09/mt-whitney.png. You can confirm it is publicly accessible by following that link.

    It is a supported file type (png).

    It is less than 500KB in size.

    Looks to me like there’s a problem in your code someplace.

    I checked and your link is working fine in the add link option.
    Here is a screenshot showing it.

    It is quite possible that It could be an issue with the php version, or BuddyPress version or a conflict with one of the existing plugins/code.

    Please let me know your BuddyPress version and php version of your server. I will test the issue with your specified version.

    Also, Please share a screenshot showing your “Media Add/Upload Settings” under the MediaPress’s general settings.
