display category in URL

  • Hello
    I have two problems with two sites that I am optimizing
    One of the sites is a shopping website and the other is a corporate site.

    One site is a shopping website

    and

    [ redundant link removed ] is a non-shopping website

    I want the name of the category not to be displayed. I want to do this for better optimization and to shorten the address
    I have tested many ways Including:
    Install the plugin
    Through the unique links settings in the WordPress dashboard
    Through Yoast SEO settings

    None of them solved my problem…

    whats the problem?
    Could it be a problem with the site’s Theme?

  • Hi,

    To remove the category name from the URL of your posts, log into the dashboard of your website and then go to Settings -> Permalinks and select Custom Structure. Then enter /%postname%/ in the field after your domain name. Once this is done, go to the bottom of the Permalink settings page and SAVE CHANGES.

    For your e-commerce site, please open a topic on the support forum for your shopping plugin.

    When i selected %postname%%category% in Custom Structure and then change the name “product-category” to “.” (section of the product category), All category pages give error 404
