    I created an YouTube Embedded Player API with app restrictions HTTP URLs and Website restrictions for my website domains (including with and without www and http/https).
    Also i made a API restriction to the YouTube Embedded Player API

    oops obviously my fault – wrong API ??

    YouTube Embedded Player API instead of YouTube Data API v3 ….

    I have also been trying to resolve this issue. Am I right in thinking you need to enable ‘Try to force HD’ in settings rather than using ‘No HD (default)’

    I would also be interested in replacing the thumbnail, if it is possible.

    had a look, I am seeing the maxresdefault.jpg image cached & used?

    Yes – as i wrote above: was my fault. i activated the wrong API. Everything’s fine now ??
