    Hi there,

at my store I’ve set the number of products per page to 21. Divided into 3 columns. So at the end of the page the product grid is completely filled with products (7×3).

But I have also activated the option to “show product-subcategories and products” together at the archive pages.

If there are 3 subcategories displaying within 3 columns everything is fine. But if there are 4 subcategories and one of the 4 subcategories is in the next row (together with the products) the end of the page is not completely filled with products. There are white spaces instead of products.

For example – the top of the page looks like this:

    category 1 | category 2 | category 3
    category 4 | Product 1 | Product 2

and the bottom of the page:

    Product 15 | Product 16 | Product 17
    Product 18 | Product 19 | Product 20
    Product 21 | SPACE 1 | SPACE 2
    — NEXT PAGE —
    Product 22 | Product 23 | Product 24

A possible solution would be to include the subcategories in the “Products per page” setting. Currently the subcategories are added to the products per page, so the end of the product grid at the bottom is partially unfilled.

Is there any option to solve this issue?
Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Hey there @decalvibes ??

From what I understand, you’d prefer having 4 subcategories, instead of 3. Yet, when there are 4 subcategories set up, white spaces appear where you’d expect products to be shown. With 3, though, there is balance in the universe.

In order to investigate further, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.?

Additionally, could you also provide us with the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Once you’ve copied each, you can use https://pastebin.com/ for pasting it there and sharing it with us.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hi @anastas10s

This issue is quite difficult to describe ??

Below you can find a screenshot of the issue (desktop-version):

FYI: At mobile version (2-columns product grid) in some cases there is also a white space at the end of a page, but this will be automatically filled up with a product as soon as reaching the endless scroll area.

I checked the js console when scrolling down to the endless-scroll area. There occurs a error:

    VM425:1 Uncaught DOMException: Failed to execute 'querySelectorAll' on 'Document': '# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner,# .blog-entry-inner' is not a valid selector.

I’m afraid there isn’t an option to send us the password in the forums, but you can remove any sensitive information and make the link public. ??

Look forward to hearing back from you.

    Hey @decalvibes ??

    From the System Status Report:

    ### Theme ###

    Name: OceanWP Child Theme

    +

    Elementor: von Elementor.com – 3.8.0-dev4
Essential Addons for Elementor: von WPDeveloper – 5.3.2

Could you please switch the site’s active theme to Storefront, deactivate Elementor, and see if the issue persists?

Let us know how that goes!

    Hi @anastas10s

thank you so much for your quick response!
I can confirm that this issue depends on the OceanWP Theme. It’s the endless scroll option of OceanWp within the Customizer

I set it to “Standard” and activated a third party plugin for Infinite Scroll. Now the white gaps are filled with products when reaching the endless scroll area.

Update: Tested some third party infinite scroll plugins right now. It seems that with many others the same issue occurs. Just with YITH Infinite Scrolling, everything is fine!

Thank you so much for your efforts and quick support!
    Proud to use your shop-system!
