Does the plugin support WPML ?

Very sorry, our current version doesn’t support WPML. But, this is already in our TODO lists. So, I promise we will have this very soon. Kindly be patient.

it would be nice to have WPML to associate video categories (or not)

no need to associate videos

The goal is to have a video gallery for the English version
another video gallery for the French version
another for the German version
and so on

those versions may have common categories or unique categories (WPML standard behavior)

Our next version is almost ready for release and we will be releasing it in 48 hrs.

But, sorry that we have planned to release WPML as a separate add-on (FREE) for our plugin to keep our plugin lightweight. I promise that we will have this add-on very soon (December) following our next release. Kindly be patient.

normally wpml compatibiliy is very light to add, for another plugin it just took a dozen of code lines to make it compatible ??

My sincere apologies for the delay. Our next version (3.0.0) is a major release and we have reworked on the code structure to make it more extensible. Unfortunately, this is taking more time than we expected. The good news is we are almost done. I promise that we will have this released by the first week of March. Kindly be patient.

Currently, we are testing the WPML compatibility. Luckily, we see that our plugin works 100% with WPML without any additional code ??

We just had to play with a few of their plugin settings. We are really surprised about the capability of the WPML plugin. Really, they are genius ??

Kindly refer to the steps below to create a multilingual gallery using our plugin,

1. Install the “WPML Multilingual CMS” and the “WPML String Translation” plugins.
2. Then, go to the “WPML => Settings” menu.
3. Scroll down to the “Post Types Translation” section.
4. Find the “Videos (aiovg_videos)” entry and select the “Translatable (only show translated items)” option. You can also select the “Translatable (use translation if available or fallback to default language)” option if you want to have common videos for all your languages.
5. Save the changes.
6. Scroll down to the “Taxonomies Translation” section.
7. Find the “Video Categories (aiovg_categories)” and the “Video Tags (aiovg_tags)” entries. Select the “Translatable (only show translated items)” option. You can also select the “Translatable (use translation if available or fallback to default language)” option if you want to have common categories for all your languages.
8. Save the changes.
9. Finally, go to the “Video Gallery => All Videos” menu, and use the “+ (plus)” icon to translate the videos into other languages.
10. Follow the same steps to translate the categories & tags respectively under the “Video Gallery => Video Categories/Tags” menu.
11. That’s it. Everything worked fine.

But, I see the email content is not translated. WPML suggests creating a language configuration file (wpml-config.xml) for this.

Still, this is achievable by adding the strings manually under the “WPML => String translation” menu.

So, I can create a multilingual gallery without any additional code even though we have planned to add a wpml-config.xml as recommended by WPML.

Forgot to mention, you should also translate the pages (WordPress Admin Dashboard / Pages) added by our plugin dynamically during the installation.
