Forum setup help: i think its almost complete

Hello everyone. My name is Nick. I’m new at the word press thing. I just started with word press 3 days ago. I wanted to challenge myself. Always wanted to build a forum. I need some assistance direly! I think the forum is almost completed and that I’m just a step or so away from being fully operational. I’ve been up for 2 or 3 nights, allll night, watching videos and reading reading reading…. and can’t figure this out. I’m using the program Simple Press.

THE PROBLEM IS:

-Nobody from the outside can login to the forum, but it lets me login through wordpress and I can post comments.
-It let my friend SIGN UP, I looked in the control panel and saw his profile there but he isn’t able to login
-When I’m looking at the forum – I click the logout button, it asks me to logout, i say yes, and it brings me back to wordpress dashboard.
– I opened a browser, went to the forum, the registration and password reset work. When I tried to login it says user doesn’t exist.

Any Idea I am grateful for some help from somebody with some knowledge, much respect. I really want to complete this project and if you know the answer to this try to be a descriptive as possible. I will even give you my phone number if you don’t want to respond via texting. Thanks a million -Nick
