This is a newer bug for me and I am not sure what triggered this to happen.

    When using this shortcode:
    [ecs-list-events limit='4' cat='course' schema='false' venue='true']
It would display only 2 events with duplicates e.g.
    – Event 1
    – Event 1
    – Event 2
    – Event 2

Doing a little bit of troubleshooting, when I removed the category parameter cat=’course’, it no longer duplicated the entries.

Luckily I don’t require the category parameter, so this is not a critical issue for me. Just thought you should know.

    Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the note! We’re not able to replicate this exact issue on our end, but there are a couple oddities related to querying events that the team at The Events Calendar are trying to solve. For example doing something like cat='course, meeting' or cat='course' tag='my-tag' in the pro version along with limit='4' could result in getting less than four events. Internally with The Events Caledar those duplicates are happening with any events that are in both the category and the tag. Hopefully issues like this are fixed shortly in a future release.

To confirm are you using the free or pro version of The Events Calendar? Are the events recurring events?

    Cheers!

    Thanks Brian.

I am using the free version with event tickets and tickets plus.

    These are not recurring events.

I think the bug could be related to me updating to the latest version of the event calendar plugins.

Thanks for confirming what plugins you’re using!

The issues mentioned above are definitely related to the 6.x update and the updated data format it’s using, but a little odd that you’re seeing something slightly different than we are.

If you’d like to dig in a little further and see if it’s a general issue or specifically on your site, you could take a backup of the site, disable all other plugins and switching to a default theme, and then see if it then doesn’t show duplicates. Then, re-enabling plugins one by one to see which one changes the behaviour. I might be able to relay that over to the team at The Events Calendar as a separate issue to figure out, depending on which plugin causes the duplicate display.

    Cheers!

I′m having the same Problem here. It started after Updating to Events Calendar v6 running on WordPress v6.02 & 6.03. Entries are Ttripled as soon as Cat=”…” is used with more than 1 category.

Thanks for letting us know @eccentricworx ! We’re also now seeing the same error @riseofweb is seeing with the latest version of The Events Calendar.

The team at The Events Calendar have confirmed it is a bug they’re looking into, but no exact date when a fix would be available. We’ll continue trying to find temporary workarounds in the meantime.

    Cheers!

I’ve got the same issue. I reversed the migration and it’s working properly again…
    I am creating a staging site…

I am now running The Events Calendar 6.0.2 and migrated the database on a staging site and all looks good!!

Thanks for the update @fscbmwcca !

Yes, it does seem like 6.0.2 solved this duplicate event issue, but certainly let us know if this does happen again.

    Cheers!
