Theme problems

Hi. I’ve installed the Linoluna theme for my blog. Having major problems getting it to recognize the categories I added. Seems to recognize only 1. Broken down into slideshow and aside display where you can select the category to display for each. Not working! Can’t find author page to display in sidebar either. Need help!
