WF Central Connection broken due to SSL certificate problem: self signed certifi

    Hi,
    We recently moved this site from shared Apache hosting to a managed Plesk server, and since moving it I cant get Wordfence Central to connect to it. The error I am getting is ‘SSL certificate problem: self signed certificate’ What can I do about this.

    Hi @nige-mcilwaine,

    Did you issue your own free SSL/TLS certificate for HTTPS status on your site? I’m also getting a potential security risk notice from Firefox and Chrome, so it’s not just Wordfence, when attempting to visit your site. These are considered a security risk as SSL certificates need to be signed and validated by a trusted Certificate Authority (CA).

    If you are issued your certificate through your host and it’s actually just invalid, needs renewing, or something else has gone wrong you should speak to your hosting provider’s support for advice on how to obtain a trusted certificate.

    Hi,

    The site does not and has never had an SSL, the owners didn’t want to pay for one on a site that is hardly ever visited, but it is actually not a problem anymore as they have decided to make the English version of the site 1891rhyl.com biligual so we will be getting rid of the 1891yrhyl.co.uk site and forwarding the domain to the English site.
